TCART Officer Elections – Nominations

The 2011 spring business meeting will include elections for the Secretary & Newsletter Editor. Please consider running for one of these positions:

Secretary: The Secretary shall keep the minutes of the meetings of the TCART and the Executive Committee; shall see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these bylaws or as required by law; shall be responsible for the corporate records and archives; shall maintain membership records; and, in general shall perform all duties incident to the office of the secretary and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to him or her by the President or by the Committee. In the absence of the President, the Secretary shall preside at business meetings of TCART and at meetings of the Executive Committee.

Newsletter Editor:
The Newsletter Editor shall produce an issue of TCART’s newsletter after each regular meeting. In the absence of the other members of the Executive Committee, the Newsletter Editor shall preside at business meetings of TCART.

If you would like to be considered for one of the open positions, please submit a short statement indicating which office you are interested in, and why you would like to serve as a TCART officer. Statements of interest should be sent to Lara Friedman-Shedlov at ldfs@umn.edu by Monday, April 11, 2011.

Register for the Midwest Archives Conference 2011 Meeting!

Registration is now open for the Midwest Archives Conference 2011 annual meeting. The meeting will be held in Saint Paul, MN at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel – Riverfront, April 28 – 30, 2011. A wide variety of interesting and exciting sessions, workshop and tours are on tap which will appeal to all in the archives and records management fields.

Advance registration is an exceptional value at $85 ($70 for MAC members, $45 for students) for this three day conference. To take advantage of this special rate, your registration must be entered online or postmarked by March 28, 2011.

Twin Cities Archives Round Table Fall Meeting

Please join us in St. Joseph at the College of St. Benedict for the fall TCART meeting. In addition to the regular meeting we will have an electronic records presentation and discussion groups on related topics. A future announcement will have more details.

The meeting will include tours of both the College of St. Benedict Archives with our host, Peggy Roske, and the St. Benedict’s Monastery Archives with Sister Renee Rau. Please plan to join us!

We will meet in the Teresa Reception Center (TRC), which is located in the building marked “A” on the campus map, http://www.csbsju.edu/About/At-a-Glance/CSB-Campus-Map.htm. The Monastery Archives are in “B,” and the College Archives are in “H”. Parking will be in Lot 1 or Lot 15.
