Twin Cities Archives Round Table Spring Meeting

St. Catherine’s University, Room 355 in Coeur de Catherine (see attached map)

The topic for discussion at our spring meeting will be grants, and writing and applying for grants.  Deadlines for mid-size and large Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants are coming up in June, while small and structured grants have deadlines throughout the year.  We’ll share best practices and tips for applying for these grants.  A Grant Writer from MPR will also present best practices for grant writing.  Come with questions, a number of TCART members have received legacy grants over the past few years, and we will have a discussion about lessons learned and the types of projects that have been funded.

Additionally, we will conduct our spring business meeting, elect officers, and tour the St. Catherine University Archives.

Building Commitment for Long-Term Access to Digital Materials, with speakers Liz Bishoff, President, The Bishoff Group LLC,  & Tom Clareson, senior consultant at LYRASIS.

DESCRIPTION: This session will cover recent research into digital preservation policy and practice development, with a focus on building commitment across the library, including with administrators, to developing all of the resources needed to achieve digital preservation. The webinar is part of the “Conversations with…” speaker series organized by the ACRL Digital Curation Interest Group, http://connect.ala.org/node/132171.

Twin Cities Archives Round Table Fall Meeting – Save the Date!

Join TCART Today!

Join TCART today and be a part of a local network of archivists, curators, librarians, and information specialists!

TCART is an informal, social organization that allows professionals to visit regional repositories, meet new people in the field, and to exchange information. TCART members are encouraged to serve on the four-person board, submit newsletter articles, attend meetings, and seek out the resources offered by member organizations. Through TCART, members help shape policies applicable to the archival community and become important contributors to regional and national organizations.

Membership Fee

$10.00. Membership year is from July 1 to June 30. Additional membership levels are available. You can download our 2011-2012 membership form here.

Meetings

Meetings are held twice a year. Members volunteer to host meetings at their repositories, giving the group the opportunity to tour various collections, to socialize, and to conduct organizational business.

Newsletter

The TCART Newsletter is published twice a year. It includes meeting minutes, announcements, and member-contributed news items.

Membership Directory

Updated annually, the directory lists members, repositories and their contact information, professional activities, and areas of interest/specialties.
